About Swami Isa
His Holiness Jagadguru Swami Isa is a spiritual teacher, educator, author, and social visionary who has been actively engaged in educational and humanitarian work for over five decades. Leading a simple monastic life, he has dedicated himself to promoting human welfare through education, social service, research, and spiritual guidance.
From an early age, Swami Isa displayed an extraordinary inclination toward spiritual life. Renouncing worldly pursuits, he spent many years travelling across India and engaging in intense tapas and yogic disciplines in forests, caves, and the Himalayas. Through a succession of profound realizations and spiritual attainments, he emerged as a teacher whose life and work would influence thousands through education, social service, and spiritual guidance.
He first founded the Isalayam Ashram in Thiruvananthapuram, and later in 1998, he founded Isa Viswa Vidyalayam, where he introduced a new educational methodology he called ‘Education for Total Consciousness’. Designed to integrate objective and subjective knowledge, the system seeks to revive the essential aims of the ancient Gurukula tradition within a modern educational framework.
To expand his educational and social initiatives, Swami Isa founded the Isa Viswa Prajnana Trust (IVPT) in 2000. Through its various programmes and institutions, IVPT works in the fields of education, community development, environmental stewardship, disaster relief, healthcare, skill development, and public dialogue. In recognition of its contributions, the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) granted IVPT Consultative Status in 2015.
Swami Isa also established several organizations, including the Global Energy Parliament, GEP Research Centre, Isalayam Ashram, and the Isalayam Institute for Training. Under his guidance, these initiatives promote research, education, social responsibility, and international cooperation. Centres inspired by his work have also been established in countries including France, Germany, and Spain.
A prolific author, Swami Isa has written numerous books on spirituality, education, science, economics, governance, and environmental harmony, as well as hundreds of articles on a wide range of subjects. His scientific work on the I-Theory has appeared in peer-reviewed journals, and he continues to encourage dialogue between science, spirituality, and society.
In addition to his educational and research activities, Swami Isa has conducted yoga courses and teacher-training programmes for more than thirty years. He has also played an active role in preserving India’s spiritual and cultural heritage through Vedic ceremonies, educational programmes, and public outreach.
Swami Isa continues to teach, write, and guide seekers while advancing initiatives dedicated to individual growth, social harmony, and global well-being.
