The Isa Viswa Prajnana Trust distributed "Onam Kits" containing food items (rice, oil, jaggery, tea, potatoes, paisam, etc.) to disadvantaged communities at the Global Energy Parliament Commemoration Meeting of the Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam held on August 23.  

“Providing this happiness to the members of our community who might not have a way to celebrate Onam is our priority and our duty,” said the IVPT Secretary.  “Celebration should only come after we ensure that our neighbours have food, shelter and clothing.”

Onam is the an important harvest festival in Kerala, and is celebrated with feasts, flower decorations, boat races, dances, etc., over a 10-day period.

50 families from disadvantaged residents of Anayara, Thiruvananthapuram, received Onam Kits, distributed by Adv. Punchakkary R. Nair and Dr. Sujakshi Haridas.
