The Isa Viswa Prajnana Trust has been granted consultative status to the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) of the United Nations, as of July 2015.
Consultative status with ECOSOC enables nongovernmental organizations (NGO's) to interact with the ECOSOC as well as the United Nations Secretariat, programmes and agencies. Currently, 4,045 NGO's enjoy consultative status with ECOSOC.
"The Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) is the United Nations’ central platform for reflection, debate, and innovative thinking on sustainable development... It is one of the six main organs of the United Nations... and the principal body for coordination, policy review, policy dialogue and recommendations on economic, social and environmental issues, as well as for implementation of the internationally agreed development goals."
