To commence the 70th Isa Jayanthi celebrations on November 9th, the Isa Viswa Prajnana Trust, in collaboration with the GEP Raj Bhavan Chair, organized a national conference in Thiruvananthapuram titled “Voices of Change: Inspiring the Next Generation to Education for Total Consciousness.”
The conference brought together some of India’s top educationists and future teachers gathered to explore the deepest aspects of Education for Total Consciousness—from its philosophy and pedagogy to detailed lesson planning. Participants also heard fresh ideas on holistic education and innovations aimed at creating more compassion in learning.
The Governor of West Bengal, Dr. C.V. Ananda Bose who is the former Speaker of the Global Energy Parliament, was the Chief Guest and attended the Valedictory session. He expressed his support for Education for Total Consciousness and the initiatives of His Holiness Jagadguru Swami Isa.
“Jagadguru Swami Isa deserves to be known to the whole world as the Swami who brings together the outer world and the inner world, whose message is always one of unity and harmony, purity and love,” said Dr. Bose.
“This ‘astronaut of inner world’ is an extraordinary being and his tireless work for society in Education for Total Consciousness, the Global Energy Parliament, the Isalayam Ashram, and the upcoming Universal University, will be a beacon light for generations to come,” he said.
Eminent educationists who gave meaningful messages about the virtues of Education for Total Consciousness and its place in the national education landscape include Dr. K. Jayakumar IAS, Former Vice Chancellor of Malayalam University; Justice Subhro Mukherjee, Vice Chancellor of Rabindra Bharati University; GEP Raj Bhavan Chair Padmasree Dr. Kiran Vyas, Padmasree Architect G. Shankar; Prof. Santha Datta De, Vice Chancellor of the University of Calcutta; Prof. Tapas Chakraborty, Vice Chancellor of Makaut University; Prof. Ram Kumar Kothari, Vice Chancellor of Sanskrit University and College, West Bengal; and Dr. MKC Nair, Former Vice Chancellor of Medical University, Kerala. Papers were presented by a number of educators including Dr. V. Reghu, former Controller of Examinations, Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Youth, Dr. G. Valsala, former Principal of Govt Institute for Advanced Study in Education, Thiruvalam, and more.
Padmasree G. Shankar, architect and GEP Minister for Housing and Planning, led a panel discussion on ETC in the context of NEP 2020 and its practical implementation.
The ‘Ideathon Challenge’ student competition was also held in parallel, in which students presented their innovative ideas to use AI solutions for more compassionate classrooms. Poulomi Banerjee and Mansi of the Kerala University of Digital Sciences and Technology took first prize.
