The 71st Jayanthi of His Holiness Jagadguru Swami Isa was celebrated with deep reverence through a joyful day of diverse programmes.
The day began with a special puja at the Isalayam Ashram. Devotees and guests gathered to offer prayers and pay their respects to Swamiji in a spirit of devotion and gratitude for His tireless efforts to guide humanity towards inner and outer harmony.
In the early afternoon, the focus turned to education with a Conference on “Addressing Current Social Challenges Through Education” held at the Mascot Hotel, Thiruvananthapuram. The session included round-table discussions and paper presentations by college students on the theme, exploring the vast potential of Swami Isa’s Education for Total Consciousness system for social transformation.
Shri. K.P. Mohanan, veteran journalist, presided over the opening function. Prof. Ganti Murthy, National Coordinator, Indian Knowledge Systems, Ministry of Education, delivered the Keynote Address. Distinguished educators who also spoke include Prof. Dr. George Varghese, former Director of the Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment and Prof. M.G. Sasibhooshan, retired professor from University College, also gave felicitations. Dr. G. Valsala gave a presentation about Swami Isa’s educational philosophy and methodology. Following this, all of the participants held round table discussions moderated by academic leaders including Prof. Dr. RL Bindu, Dean of Education, University of Kerala; Dr. Rajeswari K, Prof and Head of Centre for Research and Development, NVKSD College of Education; Dr. Divya C. Senan, Associate Professor of Education; Dr. Reghuramadas, Director of Mitraniketan.
The inspiring discussions of the conference were followed by a festive Isa Jayanthi Function, inaugurated by His Excellency Dr. C.V. Ananda Bose, Hon’ble Governor of West Bengal. In his speech, he paid homage to the endeavours of Swami Isa and his vision of a better world through education. He said that education should not only be objective but also subjective, and Swamiji’s philosophy of objective and spiritual education is the bridge between spirituality and materialism in everyday life. His Holiness Swami Isa also spoke about the importance of using his educational concepts in the classrooms and not just as a theory or philosophy.
Shri Ramesh Chennithala, MLA and former Kerala Minister of Home Affairs presided over the function, and Shri Kadakampally Surendran, MLA and former Kerala Minister of Tourism delivered a Special Address. Dr. G. Shankar, Founder of Habitat Technology Group, delivered the Welcome Address.
The Governor released two poetry collections in English and Malayalam by Swami Isa, literary testimonies to the bliss of Total Consciousness.
IVPT's Sahitya Shreshta Puraskar was presented by the Governor to Dr. M.R. Thampan honouring his literary contributions.
A cultural programme by Prof. Gayathri Vijayalakshmi, devotees and students of Isa Viswa Vidyalayam, concluded the day’s observances with an awe-inspiring dance performance.
The 71st Jayanthi united devotion and scholarship exemplifying Swami Isa’s lifelong endeavours to connect subjective and objective knowledge.
