The Isalayam Ashram celebrated International Day of Yoga with a group of yoga teacher training students from various countries including Italy, Spain, West Indies, Switzerland, Canada, Azerbaijan, Malaysia, France and Germany, and school children. His Holiness Jagadguru Swami Isa gave a discourse on "Patanjali's Ashtanga Yoga for Children."
In a written message delivered in the morning at the Inauguration of IDY at Jimmy George Stadium with Sivananda Ashram, Swamiji said, "Yoga is not a concept. It’s a living process for the attainment of higher happiness—through purity. When you are laughing, kapalabhati is naturally happening, and that positive energy is pranic purification.
"Through the eightfold path, the limited self is purified, like laughter on all levels: the five-sense oriented body, the bio-software (intellect), the thought-based chemistry (mind), the ignorance-based positive and negative egos, and vital life energy (prana). Finally there is only transparency, which bestows an awareness of our innate nature: infinite Consciousness. Vibrating Energy, in samadhi’s final stage, becomes vibrationless Consciousness."
"Yoga is not for working, for stress, for strain, or for vanity—but for laughing, smiling, and radiating the peace of infinite Consciousness.
"May peace, truth and happiness be with you always, may you spread this light everywhere."
An Asana Class was led in the afternoon by yoga master Shri. Sanathana from the Matha Tithu Ashram and Yoga Training Institute.
